Augment Human Eyes, Not Replace Them
Current Reality:
Manual inspection is subjective and fatiguing. Even the best inspectors miss defects after hours of repetitive work. However, fully automated inspection systems can be expensive and require significant integration effort.
Direction & Our Approach:
We advocate a hybrid approach: combine human expertise with machine vision where it adds the most value:
· Targeted Automation: Start with high-volume, simple geometries where defects are consistent (e.g., brake discs, pipe fittings). Use cameras and basic image processing to sort obvious rejects.
· Human-in-the-Loop: For complex castings, let AI highlight suspicious areas for the inspector to review, speeding up the process without losing judgment.
· Scalable Learning: As more images are collected, the system improves. Over time, it can take on more responsibility.
What We Offer Now:
· Feasibility studies to assess which parts are suitable for automated inspection.
· Offline vision system setup for sample testing.
· Integration with existing production lines for inline inspection of selected features (e.g., critical dimensions, surface flaws).
